1. Para producir el sonido  /ɾ/  algunas estrategias son / In order to produce the sound /ɾ/ some strategies are:

• Pronuncia «lana» y«nala», nota dónde pones la punta de la lengua.

Pronounce «lana» and «nala», notice where you put the tip of your tongue.

• Imita el sonido de una abeja poniendo la punta de la lengua en el lugar donde la colocaste previamente. (En este caso, tu abeja está empezando a volar).

Imitate the sound of a bee putting the tip of your tongue where you previously put it. (In this case, your bee is starting flying).

• También podría ayudarte pensar en el sonido <d> en inglés americano, la palabra «already» tiene un sonido muy cercano a /ɾ/ en español.

It could also help to think of the <d> sound in American English, the word “already” has a very close sound to /ɾ/ in Spanish.

• Pronuncia /ɾ/ y repite tantas veces como desees.

Pronounce /ɾ/ and repeat as many times as you want.

• Combina este sonido con vocales y sigue practicando.

Combine this sound with vowels and keep practicing.

• Pronuncia las palabras del lado izquierdo del cuadro 1, grábate hasta que estés satisfecho(a) con tu pronunciación, compáralo con el audio proporcionado. Si sientes que es demasiado difícil para ti, necesitarás fortalecer los músculos de tu lengua. Intenta hacer esto:

Pronounce the words on the left side from chart 1,  record yourself until you’re happy with your pronunciation, compare with the audio provided. If you feel is too hard for you, you’ll need to strengthen the muscles of your tongue. Try doing this:

Cuando hayas mejorado ese sonido, es hora de que tu abeja vuele más rápido. Para pronunciar /r/  algunas estrategias son:

When you have improved that sound is time for your bee to fly faster. To pronounce  /r/ some strategies are:

• Repite el ejercicio 2 de la lista anterior, pero esta vez tu abeja ya está volando más rápido, necesitarás mover la lengua más rápido, siente el aire frente a tu boca con la mano.

Repeat exercise 2 from the previous list but this time your bee is already flying, you’ll need to move your tongue faster, feel the air in front of your mouth with your hand.

• Pronuncia /r/ y repite tantas veces como desees.

Pronounce /r/ and repeat as many times as you want.

• Combina este sonido con vocales y sigue practicando.

Combine this sound with vowels and keep practicing.

• Pronuncia las palabras del lado derecho del cuadro 1 y grábate. No te preocupes si no puede hacerlo todo de una vez, esto requiere práctica y tiempo hasta que tus músculos se vuelvan más familiares a los sonidos en español.
