Repite / Repeat

1. Para producir el sonido  /ɾ/  algunas estrategias son / In order to produce the sound /ɾ/ some strategies are:

Pronounce «lana» and «nala», notice where you put the tip of your tongue.
Imitate the sound of a bee putting the tip of your tongue where you previously put it. (In this case, your bee is starting flying).
It could also help to think of the <d> sound in American English, the word “already” has a very close sound to /ɾ/ in Spanish.
Pronounce /ɾ/ and repeat as many times as you want.
Combine this sound with vowels and keep practicing.
Pronounce the words on the left side from chart 1,  record yourself until you’re happy with your pronunciation, compare with the audio provided. If you feel is too hard for you, you’ll need to strengthen the muscles of your tongue. Try doing this:

Cuando hayas mejorado ese sonido, es hora de que tu abeja vuele más rápido. Para pronunciar /r/  algunas estrategias son:

When you have improved that sound is time for your bee to fly faster. To pronounce  /r/ some strategies are:
Repeat exercise 2 from the previous list but this time your bee is already flying, you’ll need to move your tongue faster, feel the air in front of your mouth with your hand.
Pronounce /r/ and repeat as many times as you want.
Combine this sound with vowels and keep practicing.
Pronounce the words on the right side from chart 1 and record yourself. Don’t worry if you can’t do it all at once, this requires practice and time until your muscles become more familiar with Spanish sounds.
